Paloma Paloma Paloma Paloma
This shy little girl is Paloma! She came from the largest Puppy Mill Operation raid in Tennessee’s history – 760 animals with close to 700 being dogs & puppies. Paloma is around 7 years old and has more than likely lived at this Puppy Mill all her life. The dogs & puppies were kept in groups in elevated rabbit hutches. Paloma is currently being fostered with Paige and a few kitties. She is slowly starting to come out of her shell. She is “wee pad” trained and goes outside, as well.

Paloma LOVES to be outside running around on the ground! She has so much fun on her walks and is learning how to walk like a good girl. Initially, it’s a bit of a struggle getting the collars and leash on her, but once they’re on, she’s ready for fun. The research we’ve done on Puppy Mills suggests that this behavior could be due to the fact that when the people from the Puppy Mill wanted to breed her or possibly “medicate” her, they may have had to create a little noose to loop around her neck and drag her forward if she went to hide in a back corner of the cage. However, we’re not sure.

Paloma is great with other dogs and would love to go to a home where she can have a friend to help her feel secure. If you are interested in adopting Paloma, please complete an application.

If you want to enjoy the companionship of a dog or cat but not yet ready for the long-term commitment of adopting, perhaps fostering is more your speed. Please read our foster FAQ if you are interested in being a foster parent.
