Hi, my name is Chester. I am a healthy neutered 4 year old male with a current vaccination record. Although it doesn't translate well in the above photos, I have a very beautiful merle fur coat. I came to Chicago all the way from the Bronx, NY. I have had a tough life and was in foster care for about a year after my prior owner could not care for me. I love people, snuggling and wagging my “big old bootie” for attention. I am crate trained and have most of my basic commands in place. I am told that I can use a refresher course on the leash as I love chasing little furry things. I think they are called squirrels. Other than that, I walk very well on the leash. I don’t have a problem with cats, small dogs or female dogs. However, I am not very fond of large male dogs. I am waiting for a loving home and hope that I can be your 80lb couch potato.

Chester is an obedient dog and responds well to correction. He is also a bit of a clown. He bounces like a kangaroo when he gets excited. He is very people oriented and loves to play. He has a lot of love to give and has a very gentle mouth. He is cat friendly and can handle female dogs but definitely wants to be alpha in any relationship with another dog. He is enthusiastic and needs an outlet for his energy. He will also be a very willing snuggle buddy.
