Anya is EXTREMELY SWEET and is such a good girl. She gets along great with other dogs and enjoys children. She is cat-friendly and not at all interested in chasing or antagonizing her feline housemates like some dogs are prone to do. Upon meeting strangers, she is shy at first but is always gentle and non-threatening. Anya came from a kill-facility in Southern Illinois that caught fire and burned to the ground. She is now in a loving foster home where she waits to be adopted into a forever family.

Anya is coming out of her shell since being in foster care. Her confidence is building and her sweet personality has blossomed. She is starting to be more playful and has many adorable little habits. During feeding or bed time, Anya's favorite times of the day, she gets so excited that her tail winds around in circles. This is her signal that she is happy or excited. Also, Anya absolutely loves to cuddle. She will lovingly rest her chin on her favorite human's neck. When Anya wants attention, she will place a paw on your chest all the while excitedly thumping her tail.  When sitting or laying down, Anya has a tendency to cross her front paws which makes her look very regal and dignified. Anya has a very mellow disposition. Sometimes her foster parents forget she's even there as she is a very calm and quiet dog.

Along with her sweet and gentle personality, Anya has beautiful markings on her fur coat. She has such a sweet face with loving, special eyes - one eye is blue. Anya's ideal caretaker is patient and gentle; someone who will allow Anya to blossom at her own pace. Anya has a gentle and loving spirit. She deserves someone who will nurture and love her always.
